Trampoline on a Summer Day

June 28th

Over the summer, Nathan and Gabriel started a weekly tradition. After they finished yard work, they would turn on the sprinkler and play on the trampoline. Natalie knew that once they were finished it was time to join them on the trampoline. It was the guys way to cool off, and Natalie just did it for fun!

Hadley's 2nd Birthday

June 22nd

On Saturday, we went over to Josh and Jenn's house to celebrate Hadley's 2nd birthday. It was a bug themed birthday so the girls and Gabriel came ready to have some bug fun. As usual, there were a ton of little kids. The kiddos got to go on a bug hunt (with plastic bugs of course) and help release some little ladybugs. We had pizza and some delicious buggy treats. It was a wonderful celebration.

Father's Day 2013

June 16th

This was Nathan's first Father's Day as a Daddy to three. We had a relaxing day hanging out by the pool at my parents' house. As usual, we all had a great time!

Spending time with Dad in the pool.

Enjoying "blue drinks".

For part of Daddy's present, we made a 'DAD' picture frame. They each held a letter, and I framed the pictures side by side. Natalie was the most challenging because she wanted to look at the letter and not sit still. After several attempts, this is what I got!

Gabriel's Birthday Party

June 15th

For the first time in about seven years, we didn't have Gabriel on his actual birthday. We wanted to make sure to have a real celebration on Saturday since Sunday was Father's Day. Gabriel chose to go to Dave and Buster's again this year for food, fun, and games. Grammo joined us for our evening of festivities. After we ate a ton of yummy food, we were off to the games. Gabriel had a great night, and Natalie was completely overwhelmed with the sights and sounds. We ended the night at Bruster's for ice cream. It was a great birthday!

Abigail is Three Months!

June 12th

No, that is not a typo! In hopes to catch up, Nathan and I are having "Blogtoberfest"! For the first time in my blogging history, I've actually had to start taking notes to remember everything. I am so paranoid that I will forget something important! This blog is one way that I will forever remember all of the milestones and firsts that our sweet girls are having.

Abigail is three months old! She is changing nonstop. I can't believe how big she is getting. We are still having trouble getting her to bed at night at a decent time. It seems she struggles with "colic" even though I don't really believe in such a thing. She just has a hard time settling down. There have been improvements over the last few weeks though. Even through the rough times, she is such a smiler. We can always get a smile out of her! Natalie loves to "play" with her and include her in everything. We really promote including Abi in things so Natalie realizes that she is a little person too. I think it helps that Natalie sees the way Gabriel interacts with her.

On June 4th, we witnessed the most surprising thing. Abigail rolled over from her belly to her back. I knew it would be coming within the next couple weeks, but I never thought it would be this soon. It seems that even though the started small(er than Natalie), she is physically capable of more. Sweet Abi has also really discovered her fingers and hands the last few weeks. She loves to put her hands to her mouth, especially when she gets excited.

Towards the end of the month, Nathan and I decided to take Abigail to the pediatrician for her flattening head. It seemed that her head was flattening because she was such a good sleeper when she was a newborn. We were referred to Wolfson's Children's Hospital to have it looked at. Dr. Woolwine told us for the time being, we needed to have Abigail sleep on her belly to take the pressure off the right side of her head. This made me a nervous wreck for fear of SIDS, but I trust her opinion. Abi became a belly sleeper from then on and hated every minute of it. It was definitely a slow adjustment for us all!

Kicking off Summer With a Birthday

June 8th

My last day of work was on a Thursday so it really felt like summer was kicking off with an immediate birthday celebration! I work with Jamie, Cooper's mom, and we became friends while she was pregnant. Turns out she had the same doctor as I did with Natalie (and then Abi) so we had a lot in common! They even live in the same neighborhood as mine and Nathan's parents.

Anyway, Cooper turned one and we were able to go to his super large birthday party! Natalie was one of like 20 kids there and had a great time. There was a giant blow up water slide, slip-n-slide, lots of toys, yummy grilling food, and tons of goodies! I've got to say the highlight- or not so highlight- of the afternoon was when Natalie peed on their kitchen chair! In her defense, she was wearing a bathing suit with a built in swimmy diaper that obviously failed!

A Play Date with Good Friends

June 1st

It's pretty sad that I am extremely excited about finally making it to a June blog! Ugh, I'll never catch up!!

Anyway, At the beginning of June my good friend Janice came over with her kiddos. I started working with Janice two years ago. At the time I thought being "volun-told" to have the ESE class was going to be terrible. I was really wrong. Not only did I learn so much from Janice as a teacher, but we became very good friends. The coolest part about our friendship was that we were pregnant at the same time. I ended up having Abi only 13 days after she had Ava. It was nice being able to discuss baby stuff with someone who totally understood and was dealing with the similar issues. I just knew our girls were destined to be great friends, and I was devastated to find out that Janice and her family were moving to North Carolina. Natalie also loves hanging out with Janice's older boys, Conner and Cooper. We were able to get together one last time before they left at the beginning of summer. It was a great day!
