Thirteen Months!

May 21st

Thirteen months- a year and one month! Natalie continues to grow and change. She is into so many things lately. Natalie knows where her eyes, nose, hair, and belly button is. For her birthday we gave Natalie her first baby doll. The doll has eyes that close with long eye lashes. Shortly after she got the baby, she started poking herself in the eye. We couldn't figure out what she was doing until we saw her doing the same thing to her baby. Nathan and I started saying eye when she would do it, and it didn't take long for her to start pointing to her eye and saying eye. She can also say nose and attempts to say belly button- "ba". Most words that begin with the letter 'b' are pronounced the same. Natalie can also say ball, bird, bunny, bye-bye, and bite. She still continues to say duck and calls most birds ducks. She signs all done and more...especially when dealing with cookies. We are pretty sure Natalie thinks the more sign means more cookies!

Natalie is really into smelling flowers. After we pointed out her nose a few times, she would continue pointing to her nose and scrunching it up. She knows that flowers smell, and she is even smart enough to know to smell candles.

Natalie still loves Kitty and will go out of her way to stop by and say hi to him. I think he kind of feels the same way about her because he loves to rub against her. It is pretty funny to watch because sometimes he rubs her so hard, he pushes her down!

For Natalie's birthday, she got Violet the dog from Nathan's cousin and family. She is so funny with Violet. She will hold her and dance, and Nathan caught her trying to fall asleep on the kitchen floor with her! This is a huge deal because Natalie is a little tough to get to take a nap, and here she is almost passing out in the kitchen!

As I'm sure some have wondered, yes I am still blogging monthly and taking a monthly picture. Although we are out of monthly stickers, I would still like to see the change in Natalie from month to month in her rocking chair. It is definitely getting more challenging because she will not stay still! She is nonstop from the minute she wakes up. Natalie rarely plays with her toys for very long because she is more concerned with trying to grab the kitty food or playing with the bazillions of balls we have around the house. She does love to sit and read with us and sometimes by herself!

Not able to sit still.

Natalie doing something she loves- reading!
