Every year the school right around the corner has a Fall Festival. Last year Natalie was a little too young to enjoy it, but this year was a totally different story! We took Natalie in the wagon up to the festival. The school is right by our neightborhood. As soon as we got close, Natalie started to eye ball the bounce houses. Other than her first birthday, she has been in a bounce house once...and let's just say I almost took it down with a bunch of little kids inside!
There were very few things to do at the festival that were suitable for her age range. Natalie doesn't seem to understand that. She thinks she is a big girl and can handle anything. The one attraction that she could go in was the petting zoo. Now normally Natalie only enjoys petting animals in theory, but she was not shy with these animals. I guess she was watching all of the other little kids because she wasn't timid at all. Once she got the hang of it she was running around the fenced in area petting anything she could get her hands on! There were goats, sheep, chickens, a calf, and a little pony.
After this she played a few games. Her favorite was the rubber ducky pond filled with ducks. If you picked a duck with a number one, you won one duck. If you picked a duck with a two, you won two. Natalie won two ducks! We decided to head to the bounce house to see if I could bribe the lady to let Natalie in. The bounce house was for Pre-K to 1st grade, and you had to have a wristband ($12) to enter. Natalie is obviously not at least 4 and didn't have a wristband either! The woman gladly let her in and was even kind enough to limit the number of kids in with her. Natalie bounced, fell, got bumped into, face planted, and kept on going. She loved it! I had to drag her out when it was time to go. We had a great time and will continue to go each year!
