While Natalie and I spent the day shopping with Grandma, the guys (Nathan, Gabriel, and my dad-Poppa) went to watch the Gators play Vanderbilt at the Swamp! Gabriel and my dad were first timers at the Swamp, so the guys had a great time getting pictures in front of all of the signs and statues. We're a Gator lovin', Tim Tebow stalkin' kind of house, so this was a big deal for Gabriel!
Natalie has officially entered the world of eating solids! However, she still is drinking the same amount of milk throughout the day...and night! She started out with the yuckiest of vegetables and is slowly making her way to the yummy fruits. She was not too fond of green beans but has gotten used to the taste a little. She improved slightly with peas. She seems to like carrots (no video), and squash is her favorite. I've tasted it all and completely understand why she enjoys squash the most. It tastes the most like the actual vegetable and is slightly sweet. Our sweet girl has good taste in veggies. She must know that her G.G. and Poppa grow and cook delicious squash! Enjoy the videos! I thought she was quite comical until I realized what solids did to her diaper! The joys of parenthood :)
This year Halloween was very special for us. It was the first year we had Gabriel, and of course, it was Natalie's first Halloween! We attempted to carve a pumpkin but never got around to finishing. The pumpkin definitely served a unique purpose though (see pictures below).
Nathan had to go to class, so Grammo (Nathan's mom) came over to go trick-or-treating with us. Natalie lasted long enough for pictures and to ride in the stroller to a few houses and then wanted to be picked up. She was pretty good the whole time but started getting fussy towards the end. Gabriel and Grammo continued to trick-or-treat, while Natalie and I came back to the house for our bedtime routine. We had a great time!
Natalie had so many different outfits and costumes for her first Halloween, and I had so many ideas for first Halloween pictures. I took Natalie out in our backyard and just started taking pictures. She loved the cool breeze and getting to feel the grass for the first time.
It's hard to believe Natalie is already six months old. She is such a growing girl. She really is starting to develop her personality. Natalie continues to talk, squeal, and say "baba". It is so much fun to just sit and play with her. She has favorite toys and even a favorite song. If we sing "The Wheels on the Bus" she will stop fussing no matter where we are or why she is upset. It's like magic! Nathan and I have gotten super creative with the song. We are so talented, we can have full on conversations to the tune of "The Wheels on the Bus"! ...Have I mentioned Natalie still hates the car? I am still holding on to hope that she will learn to love being in the car. The good news is she doesn't mind the truck as much because she is right next to daddy. Natalie is a pro at sitting up on her own and continues to think about crawling (nothing definite at this point). She has recently discovered the cat and trys to 'pet' him when he passes by. Kitty knows that Natalie's definition of 'pet' is actually grab the fur so he steers clear for the most part.
This was the hardest picture yet. This was the first month Natalie was fully capable of sitting on her own, but she was also well aware that she was sitting in a rocking chair! We didn't have to worry about her slipping down or laying to the side like we used to, instead we had to worry about her flying forward while rocking!
